LIIT also known as the long beach iced tea, is one of the most popular cocktails in the USA and Canada. Lord of mixology has got you covered to make this cocktail. There are many variations made with various liquors (rum, vodka, or whiskey) and fruit flavorings. Although this recipe was created by General Manager John DiGangi at Rizzolo’s in Walford, NY, Here is my version of the long island iced tea.
What is an ‘Ice Tea Cocktail’? This is a combination of iced tea and vodka mixed with club soda. It is a refreshing summer drink, and the original Long Island Ice Tea recipe dates back to the late 1800s.

It’s probably the most iconic mixed drink from the 80s and 90s. Originally it was called “Long Island Iced Tea”, but bartenders had issues with people saying “iced tea”. So, most called it Long Island Ice Tea to avoid confusion. With no ice tea in the cocktail, making it simply not make logical sense. The name did not stick though and when we drink it today we still call it Long Island Ice Tea.

How To Make Long Island Ice Tea Cocktail?

Ingredients
1 cup Rum
3/4 cup Tequila
3/4 cup Vodka
3/4 cup Gin
3/4 cup Triple Sec
Sugar Syrup
Lemon Juice
Coke
Directions
- Add rum, tequila, vodka, gin, and triple sec in a cocktail shaker along with ice cubes and shake. you can also add sugar syrup to taste.
- Pour it on collins or hurricane glass.
- Add cola at the top for color.
- Garnish with a lemon slice.
Conclusion
This Long Island Ice Tea is so easy to make comparatively, it’s a cocktail that you can drink over and over again. It’s got a nice blend of citrusy flavors, and the addition of triple sec will give it a sweet taste.
